Dry eye syndrome can be presented with different symptoms; some may report a sandy or gritty feeling on the eye, burning sensation, redness, pain, intermittent blurring of vision, and heaviness of eyelids.

Dry eyes can be aggravated by a lot of different factors, and one of which is the use of contact lenses. Some contact lens wearers do not even recognize the symptoms of dry eyes and would continue wearing their lenses regardless of symptoms.

Contact lens wearers know exactly how uncomfortable wearing lenses can be. Prolonged use of lenses added up with environmental conditions can easily make your eyes feel dry.

A number of products are available to address dry eye symptoms, but are these solutions safe for contact lenses? To be on the safe side, contact lens wearers would remove their lenses prior to application of lubricating eye drops, wait for few minutes, and then put the lenses back on the eye. But this can be cumbersome especially if the need to lubricate is quite frequent.

A product from the systane family has been developed to help contact lens users enjoy the comfort of moistening and removing debris from their lenses without the need of taking their lenses off. Systane for Contacts can be used directly on the eye even with contact lenses on.
