Acuvue Oasys Contact lenses are special types of silicone hydrogel contact lenses. It is made of senofilcon A which is a new silicone hydrogel material with 38% water content and it is 50% smoother than other available silicone hydrogel contact lenses.

This new silicone hydrogel material allows 98% of the available oxygen to pass through to the cornea and thus preventing hypoxic changes.

In these lenses there is also a high moisture wetting agent called hydraclear plus which is a new improved generation of hydraclear technology.

This technology will help the lens to work perfectly in different environments such as working for long hours infront of computer, exposure to cold or heated air conditions and frequent air travel, providing high wetting protection and smoothness of the lens.

Senofilcon A and hydraclear plus technology will help to decrease or even eliminate common problems of soft contact lenses wear such as discomfort from dryness and they will make the blink smoother and you will not even feel that you are wearing a contact lens.

Replacement Schedule

1- Daily lenses. Can be used for 2 weeks with daily removing and cleaning.

2- Extended lenses. Can be used continuously up to 6 days and then should be replaced with new pair. This type of lens is FDA approved for overnight wear, up to six nights.

UV Protection

Acuvue Oasys Lenses have the Highest protection among other contact lenses against UV-A and B. These lenses can block around 96%  of Ultraviolet A and almost 100% of Ultraviolet B. These lenses contain Benzotriazole Ultraviolet absorbing material or  monomer that block ultraviolet.

Although these lenses block the transmission of UV radiation to the cornea and into the eye, these lenses can't replace the UV-absorbing goggles or sunglasses because they don't cover the whole eye completely.

Reactive Blue Dye #4 is used in these contact lenses to make them blue in color and visible for handling.

Lens Powers

The powers of these contact lenses are ranged from 12.0 Diaptor for Myopia or Nearsightedness to 8.0  Diaptor for Hyperopia or Farsightedness.
