Acuvue TruEye Contact Lenses

Acuvue TruEye Contact Lenses provide a “Near NO LENS experience”. It features HYDRACLEAR 1 technology that maintains an optimal level of lubrication resulting to a comfort level that is comparable to having no lens at all.

ACUVUE TruEye is embedded with PVP (Polyvinylpyrrolidone) that imitates the mucin that is present on both the eyelid and cornea, mimicking the way tears cover the eye surface.

Other lenses are manufactured with the wetting agent included in the packing solution to keep the lenses moist, but once they’re taken out from the pack, they tend to be less and less moist the longer they are worn. While with the HYDRACLEAR technology, the wetting agent is embedded on the silicone hydrogel lens itself keeping it smooth and silky during the entire use.

ACUVUE TruEye is recommended for people who wear contact lenses intensively for ≥ 14 hours a day and ≥ 5 days a week. It keeps the eye at its almost natural state all day long.

Vision correction

ACUVUE TruEye is available for near- and farsighted correction prescriptions with the following power ranges: –0.50D to –6.00D (0.25D increments), –6.50D to –12.00D (0.50D increments), and +0.50D to +6.00D (0.25D increments).

Technology

ACUVUE TruEye lenses are made of narafilcon A, a silicone hydrogel material that provides great breathability, delivering 98% of the available oxygen to the open eye. ACUVUE TruEye has better oxygen permeability compared to other daily disposable brands.

HYDRACLEAR 1 Technology is the 3rd generation of the HYDRACLEAR technology family. It has the highest volume of moisture-rich wetting agent allowing high wettability that makes wearing ACUVUE TruEye lenses as comfortable as not wearing any lenses at all. The highly wettable contact lenses also provide ultra-smoothness that makes them almost unnoticeable even during blinking.

With the HYDRACLEAR 1 technology the cornea can hardly distinguish the lens from the eyelid, and the eyelid can hardly distinguish the lens from the cornea, making the lens almost invisible to the eye.

A study conducted by Chamberlain P, Morgan PB, Moody K, and Maldonado-Codina C. titled wherein 74 subjects without prior contact lens experience were randomized to wear 1 DAY ACUVUE TruEye lenses , demonstrated that narafilcon A daily disposable silicone hydrogel lenses provide an excellent form of vision correction that showed minimal changes in the physiology of the eye.

The study concluded that it is comparable to the eye without lenses in comfort level, and in 5 out of 6 measures of eye health (bulbar conjunctival hyperemia, corneal vascularization, corneal staining, limbal hyperemia, and papillary conjunctivitis).

ACUVUE TruEye with hydraclear Contact lenses has the highest built-in UV protection available in a daily disposable lens. It blocks at least 96% UVA and 99% UVB from the sun. The lenses are also lightly tinted with inside out mark to improve visibility and help with handling.
