Optive Eye Drops is type of artificial tears that are used to treat dry eye syndrome. There are two types of this eye medication. The first one is called lubricant eye drops and the second one is called Optive sensitive lubricant eye drops.

 

1- Optive Lubricant Eye Drops

Advanced dual action formula that lubricates and hydrates dry eyes, giving your eyes long-lasting moisturizing protection. It comes in 15 ml and 30 ml multi-used bottle formulated with Purite.

 

Product Ingredients

Active Ingredients

Carboxymethylcellulose Sodium (0.5%), Glycerin (0.9%).

Inactive Ingredients

Boric Acid, Calcium Chloride Dihydrate, Erythritol, Levocarnitine, Magnesium Chloride Hexahydrate, Potassium Chloride, Purified Water, Sodium Borate Decahydrate, and Sodium Citrate Dihydrate.

Preservative

Preservative free.

 

 

Indications of Optive Eye Drops

 

Long standing relief of dry eye symptoms in mild to moderate dry eye. Optive is suitable for use with contact lenses.

 

Mechanism of Action

  • Hydrate the eye and decrease the sensation of foreign bodies in the eyes.
  • Osmoprotection. Lubricant Eye drops help to protect the cornea from hyperosmolar tears. hyperosmolar tears cause burning and stinging sensation in the eye.

 

 

2- Optive Sensitive lubricant eye drops

It is the same as lubricant eye drops but with preservative free. This is very important feature especially for people who need long term therapy for dry eyes because preservatives that present in most of eye drops can cause corneal toxicity with damages to corneal epithelial cells.

Sensitive Preservative free Lubricant Eye drops comes in 30 single use containers each with 0.4 ml. It can be use for mild to moderate dry eye and also it shows beneficial for dry eye after Lasik Eye Surgery.
