Question

Hi,

Three years ago, I had a clear bag/bump on the rim of the lash line of the upper eyelid. I got it laser cleared 3 months ago and now I have it again on the same spot, but smaller in size. It doesn't hurt or annoy me. What is it? And, do I need to worry about it reappearing again?

Thanks

Answer

Thanks for your Question

Did your doctor mention the medical name of this bump, is it chalazion, stye, sebaceous cyst or serous cyst. I have to know what is the medical name of this bump so i can answer your question.

Almost all the bumps appear the same and only physical examination can differentiate between them. Some of these bumps can only be cured by surgical removal, some needs ointments and drops and others may need laser intervention.

Is it normal for a bump to appear again after being laser cleared?

Warts are caused by virus infection. Laser is one of the treatment modalities. Recurrent warts require surgical removal with ointment and sometimes with the use of Mitomycin.

You can discuss these options with your doctor.
