Question

Hi,

I can't wear my contact lenses since my eyes get red and I'm using optive refresh lubricant eye drops so my eyes can feel better.

Can I still wear my contacts or am I risking my eyes?

Thanks

Answer

Thanks for your Question

Optive eye drops has not been proven to be used safely while wearing contact lenses. There are several eye drops that are designed to be used while wearing contact lenses such as systane for contacts.

You can use it and reduce symptoms of dryness while you wear contact lens. I would recommend also to take off your contact lens for several days and use artificial tears aggressively every 1-2 hours.

In case your complaint still persist then your eyes are sensitive to lenses and you have to stop wearing them and you can think about other options to treat your refractive errors such as lasik Eye Surgery.
