Hi,

My mom is 76 years old and she has diabetes. She had cataract surgery on the right eye in January 2012 but still gets teary eyes and it hurts her.

Now she needs surgery on the left eye because now shes unable to see clear

You should check the intraocular pressure in the right eye which sometimes can get high after cataract surgery.

Also dry eyes in diabetic patients who had cataract surgery is very common and it is manifested as excessive tearing and foreign body and burning sensation.
