Thanks for your question

There are two types of Optive. The first one is called Optive lubricant eye drops with preservative called prurite.

This preservative will be dissolved into water once it comes in contact with the cornea.

The second type which is preservative free called Optive sensitive preservative free lubricant eye drops.

Artificial tears with preservative should not be used with contact lens because it can participate on its surface.

Preservative free artificial tears can be used with contact lens but it is not advisable because there is no enough data to support that.
