Question

HI,

THIS IS MY FIRST TIME I M GOING TO USE EYE GLASSES. I HAVE A PROBLEM THAT I CAN'T SEE CLEAR FAR . I CAN SEE NEAR BUT NOT CLEAR IN FAR DISTANCE THAT'S WHY I WENT TO DOCTOR. FIRST DOCTOR GAVE ME 0.5 POWER GLASS BUT WHEN I WEAR THAT GLASS I FELT HEADACHE AND VOMITING.

AFTER THAT I WENT TO NEXT DOCTOR. HE GAVE ME 0.5/0.5 POWER WHEN I USED THAT POWER I HAVEN'T FEEL ANY VOMITING AND HEADACHE.BUT MY FIRST DOCTOR SAID THAT DON'T USE HIGH POWER GLASS IN FIRST USE THAT'S WHY HE GAVE ME LOW POWER(0.5) HE SAID THAT 0.5/0.5 IS HIGH POWER FOR FIRST USER IT CAN EFFECT YOU IN YOUR FUTURE.

I M VERY CONFUSE WhAT TO DO PLEASE GIVE ME ADVICE ABOUT 0.5 POWER AND 0.5/0.5 AND MY NEXT CONFUSION IS CAN I USE CONTACT LENSES IN OUR NEPAL CITY HERE IS TOO MUCH DIRT AND POLLUTION IN ROAD IS THIS GOOD TO WEAR LENSES OVER DIRT.IS YES THAN HOW CAN I TAKE CARE OF LENSES PLEASE GIVE ME ADVISE AND SUGGESTION.

THANKS

Answer

Thanks for your Question

0.5/0.5 is not a high refractive power. You should wear what you feel comfortable with. With 0.5 power you had headache and vomiting while with 0.5/0.5 you didn't have these symptoms and you felt good with it so you should wear it.

Changes in refractive errors in the future do not depend on the power of the glasses and do not depend on wearing glasses or not. If you decided to wear contact lenses you should take care of them.

Try not to wear them during dusty weather.
