Question

Hi,

Recently had intraocular lens implants in my right eye in November and in Left eye on December.

I am now experiencing severe discomfort and itching especially in right eye. Want to rub them both constantly. Could I be rejecting my lenses?

Thanks

Thanks for your Question

It is unlikely these days that you will have rejection to intraocular lenses. Old intraocular lenses can cause Uveitis–Glaucoma–Hyphaema syndrome which is manifested as intraocular inflammation, bleeding and high intraocular lenses.

Itching and red eye are most likely caused by external eye diseases such as allergic conjunctivitis, dry eyes, blepharitis and so on and it can't be caused bu intraocular lens implantation.
