Cataract Eye Surgery
Cataract
Question
Hi,
I have an elderly friend who had cataract surgery performed four years ago.
He doesn´t take care of himself, he is a Christian scientist who is extremely stubborn.
I don´t believe he has had one check up since the surgery.
NOW his eyes are watering constantly. He is over-sensitive to light, and I´m worried about his going blind.
He only has ONE EYE and is 88 years old.
What should I do? What should he do?
Thanks
Answer
Thanks for your Question
I am not sure that eye redness and tearing are related to old cataract surgery. These two symptoms have many causes such as conjunctival infection, high intraocular pressure of glaucoma, uveitis, intraocular examination, corneal infection.Without proper ocular examination we will never know the cause.
The best thing to do is to take him to an eye doctor as soon as possible for full ocular examination. He should pay more attention to his eye because this is the only eye he has.
