I am an 8th grader . I am doing a research project on Amblyopia and I was hoping you could answer some questions.
What age group do you often find Amblyopia?
- On a day to day basis how many kids with Amblyopia do you diagnose ?
- Do many kids get surgery to get it fixed or do they use a patch?
- Can you prevent amblyopia from happening?
- Do you think Amblyopia affects someone's learning?

1- About 20% of patients have amblyopia in my clinic
2- Most of them are treated with eyeglasses and patching of the strong eye. Few of them need surgery
3- You can prevent amblyopia or decrease the density of amblyopia with early examination of the child. Every child should be examined before the eye 3 years
4- It can affect someone learing if it is in both eyes
5- It can be prevented if the child examined early, before 3 years old
