Question

Hi,

I am 56 years old and I have been having problems with a blurry eye in the mornings when I wake. I had laser corrective surgery a little over two years ago and the blurriness problem started about nine months after the surgery.

I sleep on my side or my stomach and it seems that what ever side my head is resting on when I wake up is the eye that is blurry. It takes most of the day before my eye comes into focus. Is this a common problem after this type of surgery? I did have dry eye syndrome before having the surgery but the doctor sealed my tear ducts and that took care of the problem.

Do yo have any suggestions for me on why this is happening and how I might be able to alleviate this problem?

I have tried to train myself to sleep on my back but it just doesn't happen. I always end up on my side or stomach. I have 20/20 vision on both eyes so when this doesn't occur I am quite happy with my eyesight.

Thanks for your Question

The main problem is your way in sleeping. It seems that you press on your eyes while you are sleeping.

You can use sleeping eye mask and try to find a thick one that can't compress on your eyes while you are sleeping.
