Question

Dear Doc,

In the year 2013,,i got typhoid fever..during the course of typhoid i used mobile and tabs..and during that time only i found blurring and pain..in eyes and back of skull just opposite to eye..local drs found that due to age i was having plus power.

But it was quite less, till this day that power didnt change..plus1..but my problem in even if i do work for only couple of minutes with eyes..everything i see get blurred, and now if i try to read more..my eyes got painful..and vision becomes blurred..its more than 2 long years i am suffering.

Very recently i was checked and found i am having intraocular pressure  of 30 &40in both right and left eyes respectively. The Dr started glaucoma treatment..but i visited another hospital and they found very less and normal Intraocular Pressure. I used those anti IOP drops for two days only and then visited the drs.

Now Dr. Wants to check the IOP after one month again to exclude glaucoma..what happened to me exactly?

What should i do now ?

Thanks

Thanks for your Question

First of all you have to check for refraction power for reading glasses. you might have more than +1.0 Diopter. Under or over correction can cause eye pain.

Second thing you have to re-check your intraocular pressure at least 1 week after you stop your anti glaucoma eye drops. Measurement of intraocular pressure shoud be done by applanation tonometry not by air puff tonometry.

Imaging of the optic nerve head with O.C.T is very important in diagnosis of Glaucoma.
