Question

Hello,

My father is mid 50s and he has had this Cataracts for a while now. He uses 4 different eye drops everyday and also had a surgery of one eye.

My question is, if my father smokes weed once a day, will it help relax his eye and do what basically the eye drops are doing. Like instead of using drops. I am not excepting for the weed to completely cure his eye but will it at least not make his eye worst then it is now.

Looking forward to your answer.

Kind Regards

Thanks for your Question

There is currently no evidence to suggest that weed or Marijuana is good for cataract but is a commonly held thought that marijuana  or weed does help patients with glaucoma by lowering intraocular pressure.

However, the dosages and side effects involved to get marginal improvement make it a very poor way to treat glaucoma.
