Question

Hi,

I have very poor eyesight in my left eye and i am considering laser surgery. Three years ago my vision was -6.50 and today it is -7.00. I was just wondering if this was considered a stable prescription.

Thank you.

Answer

Thanks for your Question

Stable prescription means that your refractive power didn't change in the last year more than 0.5 Dioptre. Refractive powers usually stabilize after the age 20-21 years but sometimes can extend to late twenties.

It seems that your vision is stable and you can be a good candidate for refractive surgery but there are other tests should be done before the surgery.
