Question

Hi,

My son has Optic nerve hypoplasia. No one seems to notice or find this bizarre. I've searched and found things that look similar. I was curious if this is affecting his vision as well as the Optic nerve hypoplasia.

And if anyone has any idea from a pic what it might be.

Thanks

Answer

Thanks for your Question

This is called iris atrophy with polycoria it can be isolated congenital defect or associated with other defects in the eye such as optic nerve hypoplasia. It cause no vision problem by itself.

You should discuss this thing with your eye doctor in order to define any other problems in the eye that can be associated with it.
