Hi,

I Performed a cataract surgery on my left eye and its been a 25 days. I am recovering now. My right eye has a power of -10. Due to this I am feeling uncomfortable as one eye is clear and the other is not. Can i wear a glass based on power (right -10 and Left -3) till i opt for my second eye surgery?

Please advice

Thanks

Answer

Thanks for your Question

With the big difference in the refractive powers of both eyes, about - 7.0 D. This difference might cause headache, double vision and eye strain with eyeglasses.

The best thing to do is to reduce the difference between both eyes. For example, full refractive power for the left eye (-3.0 D) and -5.0 D to -7.0 D for the right eye.

Sometimes wearing contact lenses with full power in both eyes can help but you might have double vision.
