Can Posterior capsular Opacity occurs weeks after cataract Eye surgery?

Answer
Thanks for your Question
Yes it can, even in some cases the posterior capsular opacity can occur days after the cataract surgery. The intraocular lens is implanted inside a bag in which the back surface of this bag is opacified with time.
Usually it occurs months after cataract eye surgery but for some reasons such as young age, intraouclar inflammation, complicated intraocular surgeries, type of intraocular lens, remnants of lenticular fibers and epithelial cells, medications and diabetes mellitus, the opacification can occur earlier.
YAG Laser capsulotomy can be used to treat this condition but it is not recommended earlier than 4 months post cataract surgery
