Question

Hi,

Sudden onset, Wondering what exactly this is?

Does it look like something that may need treatment or removal?

Optometrist recommends taking photos and reporting with changes after 3 months.

I'm considering booking an appointment with an ophthalmologist.

Thanks

Answer

Thanks for your Question

Most likely what you have is called conjunctival nevus which is benign condition. As your optometrist said, you should follow the size of it. I would prefer to visit an ophthalmologist how can further examine it and to document its size, color , vascularity and mobility of the lesion to the underneath tissue.

It can be removed surgically for cosmetic purpose and it can be sent for pathology to confirm the diagnosis
