Question

Hi,

Two days ago I had my pterygium removed and the doctor did a graft to place over the area where the pterygium was cut off.

I was told he would take the graft from behind my eyelid but today have discovered that the graft was taken from behind the lower eyelid but also into a very visible part of my eye.

Will this area heal and return to white or will I now have a big scar in my eye from where the graft was taken?

Thank you so much!

Answer

Thanks for your Question

The exposed scleral part will be healed completely within few weeks without any visible scar. This conjunctival hemorrhage also will be completely gone within few days to weeks.

You have to use eye drops post surgery as instructed by your doctor.

Thank you so much! You’re absolutely right. I thought the subconjunctival hemorrhage was actually a surgical cut but the next day it started to fade and I realized it wasn’t. Feeling much better about it now.

Thank you for your answer!
