Question

Hi,

My eye has yellowish stuff at the lacrimal caruncle area and obvious red/purple veins on the corners of my eye, slight yellowing on top and bottom of my eyeball. Please let me know if it is serious and the cause of it.

I’m very worried

Thanks

Answer

Thanks for your Question

The normal color of lacrimal caruncle is yellow because it has multiple sebaceous or fat glands. Also the yellowish discoloration patches that you have on the upper and lower parts of the sclera or the white part of the eye are also normal and there is nothing to worry about.

Dilated conjunctival blood vessels can be caused by wearing contract lenses for a long time, tiredness, computer vision syndrome, lack of sleep and dry eyes.
