Question

Hi,

I have really poor vision. I wear contacts, and my contact prescription is -9.00 in my left eye and -8.00 in my right. My night vision is very bad and I want to know if it can be improved with different contacts.

Car lights have a huge glow around them at night and watching TV is very hard because of the glows.

Shows with a lot of dark colors are the worst.

Thanks

Thanks for your Question

There are many causes of poor night vision with glow and halos around lights such as under-correction contact lenses, poor quality contact lenses, dry eyes, cataract and so on. You can read this article for more information about causes of halos around lights.

You have to visit an optometrist for full eye examination. Meanwhile and due to the lockdown you can use lubricant eye drops. There are special type of lubricant eye drops that you can use while wearing contact lenses such as systane Contacts.
