Question

Dear doctor,

About 2 days ago I felt like there was something in my eye. I went to check and there was nothing in it but I did not take my contacts out.

My eye then began to turn red and tearing up and became super sensitive to any light plus it felt super irritated. I went to the eye doctor the day after and she said that I have conjunctivitis which I think is pink eye and she prescribed me ofloxacin ophtal eye drops.Today is Tuesday and she said to go back Thursday if nothing has changed.

Well today my eye no longer hurts it’s just still pinkish/ reddish, it doesn’t tear up unless I put in the eye drops and is no longer sensitive to the light. But doctor I’m really worried because my eye is still a bit swollen which is understandable except my eye looks like a lazy eye now and my eye lid feels like it is reacting a little slower than usual.

My question is, is it possible that my infection can cause a lazy eye and does it happen before with other people?

What can I do to assure my eye goes back to the way it was?

Thanks

Answer

Thanks for your Question

Conjunctivitis won't cause lazy eye and it seems that your eye is healing. Just give it sometimes and swelling, redness will go away gradually with medications.

You should follow back with your doctor and also you should get rid of contact lens and also the lens case because both of them are infected now.
