Question

Hi,

I did the lemon cleanse twice. The first time I could not wear contacts at the end .

A year later I did again and did not wear contacts during cleanse. About two weeks after I started seeing floaters. This could be a coincidence as I am 61.

I was reading about floaters and that the fluid is 99% water and 1% is collagen fibers. I started to think maybe the lemon juice which dried up my eye the first time. was somehow pulling water from eye and caused floaters?

If so, could a normal saline eye drop or regular contact wetting solutions work in reverse?

Thanks

Thanks for your Question

Eye Floaters at age 61 is a normal condition and it is a coincidence incidence after lemon cleanse. If Lemon Juice came in contact with your eye accidentally it might causes burning sensation, red eye, pain, or corneal infections but it won't cause eye floaters because the eye floaters are caused mainly by pathological conditions that affects the vitreous.

At young age, the vitreous is like a gel while at older age, the vitreous is liquefied and that is the main reason for physiological cause of eye floaters.

It is advisable for people who saw floaters for the first time to have a dilated fundus examination to exclude other less common causes of eye floaters.

You have always to protect your eyes from lemon juice and any other fluid so you have to wear safety glasses or contact lenses but safety glasses are better because they can protect the whole eye.
