Question

Hello,

For a couple days now, I just started to see circular flashing lights in my vision when i look side-to-side & up/down movement. What does this mean? Is it serious that requires an immediate visit to the eye doctor?

Thanks

Answer

Thanks for your Question

It is common to notice flashes when you move your eyes to the extreme far horizontal and vertical gaze and may not require any treatment. This is due to movement of the vitreous inside the eye which is attached to the retina.

Although it is fairly common and a benign condition sometimes it can be caused by retinal hole or tear which require urgent treatment.

I recommend to visit an eye doctor or optometrist for further evaluation and full eye examination.
