Question

Hi,

I have a very small stye on my bottom left eyelid, on the inner corner. I noticed slight pain a couple days ago when I rubbed my eyes, but the bump just appeared last night.

I am wearing my glasses today, but I was wondering the appropriate route to take in regards to wearing contacts. Some websites I've seen have said not to, but as I mentioned my stye is truly tiny so I'm not sure if it varies at ll depending on size. Should I expect it to grow? I've been using a warm compress, but is there something else I can do?

My glasses are a prescription behind and quite loose, and I return to school tomorrow where I'll need to see clearly and will be running so I don't want my glasses to fly off.

Thanks

Thanks for your Question

You should be sure that it is a stye or chalazion and you shouldn't wear contact lenses if you have a stye. Stye is a bacterial infection of the oily gland of the eyelid while chalazion is non infection inflammation of the oily gland.

You should visit you eye doctor because the treatment is different.
