LASIK one week ago.
Eye drops after the surgery, for dry eye.
Question
Hello,
I had LASIK surgery one week ago, and today I went to the follow up appointment. The thing is that with my right eye I see a little bit blurred, my vision is like I had a dirty contact lens.
The doctor told me that the dead cells were not cleaned well, but that the cornea will clean these dead cells that were inside the corneal flap.
Is this true? What are your thoughts? What would you do?
Thanks
Answer
Thanks for your Question
What you have is called diffuse lamellar keratitis which is a form of inflammatin between the corneal flap and corneal stromal bed due to the presense of bacterial toxins, debris, dead cells and inflammatory cells.
Treatment of this condition depends mainly on the severity. For mild cases observation with mild steroid eye drops.
Moderate to severe cases may required strong steroid eye drops and sometimes lift the corneal flap with irrigation of corneal stromal bed.
