Question

Hope you are fine.

Actually i have gone through a laser eye surgery approx 3 years ago.My vision of left and right eye was -1.5 and -1.75 respectively and after LASIK i recovered completely since then i am not using glasses but since then i am feeling dryness in my eyes, my eyes become too much sensitive that when i press my eyes or anything contact with them i feel pain that lasts for some time.I also feel pain when i woke up in the morning but it occurs rarely.

Another issue is that as i am a student of engineering i have to study alot so when i use mobile or laptop for 1 hour or more continuously i feel double vision that lasts for approx 1 to 2 hours.

I have visited 2 to 3 time to the doc who did surgery on me i told him the same situation but everytime he gave me eye drops (Alkon tears Nturale-II) I am using them but they are not effective for double vision problem.

What should i do

Answer

Thanks for your Question

There are many causes of double vision with reading. The first cause is dry eyes which can be treated with lubricant eye drops and in your case you should use them more frequently as dry eye is common complication after lasik eye surgery.

The second cause is ciliary spasm or accommodative spasm in which there is spasm of a muscle inside the eye called ciliary muscle and the spasm occur from working for a long period on mobile or computer. Try to take a break every 20-30 minutes to relax this muscle.

The third cause is uncorrected refractive errors. You have to check with your doctor if you need and eyeglasses for near

The fourth cause is abnormal movement of eye muscles for near vision which also should be examined by your eye doctor in the clinic.
