Question

Hi,

Yesterday, I noticed that I was seeing a purplish circle/ring in the center of my vision in my right eye. It is most pronounced right after blinking.

When I close my eyes, it fades in and out of my vision. It's the same effect as if I just looked at a bright circular light and then looked away, except that I don't recall doing that and it has now been about 24 hours and it's still present.

It's less visible with both eyes open and more so when only my right eye is open. Should I be worried? Due to Covid I'm unable to see an optometrist unless it's an emergency.

Thanks

Thanks for your Question

If you see it for few seconds after blinking that is normal and there is nothing to worry about but if you see it continuously you should visit an emergency department for further evaluation and to rule out high intraocular pressure or corneal edema.
