Question

Hello,

During puberty, my vision has started to get worse rapidly over the course of just a few months. I was wondering, does the use of computer screens, reading, or anything that requires you to be up close to something, be the reason for nearsightedness?

Also, will my vision restore itself back to how it was before I hit puberty, when my vision was crystal clear?

Thanks

Answer

Thanks for your Question

The progression of myopia is typically faster at young ages especially around puberty. Increasing the length of time spent in near work activities such as computer screen and education may inadvertently increase the incidence, prevalence and progression of myopia.

Try to reduce working time on computer and pay more attention to physical and outdoor activities.
