Moxifloxacin, gatifloxacin, tobramycin, eye drops. Azithromycin, and chloramphenicol with neomycin with dexamethasone ointment
Question
Hi,
My 14 month old baby boy is suffering from chronic blepharitis since 40 days on and off in both eyes: chalazion, Stye, hordeolum and ulcerative blepharitis .
Please help.
Answer
Thanks for your question
You have to be sure that there is no nasolacrimal duct obstruction which will cause the tear to build up in your baby's eyes and cause conjucntivitis and blepharitis.
Also lid hygiene and warm massage to the eye lid are very important and make sure also that baby hands are clean because they always rub his eyes.
Don't over use these antibiotics, just use chloramphenicol eye drops or tobramycin eye drops 2-3 times a day for few days and under your doctor supervision.
