Question

Hi,

A few days ago I started seeing floaters in front of my left eye. I do not see them all the time. I do not see them in the dark at night, only during the daytime and not all the time.

I have a yearly eye exam scheduled in 3 weeks. Do I need to  schedule an appointment before then with my eye doctor?

Thanks

Answer

Thanks for your Question

Most of the time, eye floaters are caused by normal liquefaction process of vitreous body and no treatment is required in case but there are other causes that require treatment and should be detected early such as retinal hole, retinal tear, vitreous hemorrhage , vitreous inflammation or vitritis and retinal detachment.

That is why you should schedule an appointment before your yearly follow up with your eye doctor
