Question
Hello Eye doctor,
I have an eye defect called strabismus (exotropia) and I need a medical report to certify me fit to work in my new job. I was fed up when the company's doctor said I should go and treat myself as if I have a disease.
I cannot see or read with my left eye because it is the eye that drift outward. Doctor, is there anything I can do to get my eyes back to normal so I can proceed to my new job.
Thanks
Answer
Thanks for your Question
As you said you have exotropia in which the left eye is deviated outside. First of all you have to do full eye examination to know what is the cause of this problem. After we know what is the cause of your crossed eyes then we can determine the treatment.
From my experience i can say that you have left eye amblyopia and you might need surgery for the eye muscles to reposition your left eye to its normal position.
Regarding the vision in your left eye, i am not sure there is any thing we can do to improve the vision but you should visit an ophthalmologist to confirm that.
