How to Improve Your Eyesight? Simply, You need a nutritional Plan !

Evaluate your present vision plan now and consider adding nutritional strategies to improve eye vision

What is your vision plan right now? For many people, their vision plan is to go to the eye doctor – ophthalmologist or optometrist on a regular schedule and continue life as usual.

The problem is that this is not a real plan. Certainly this is a necessary step in protecting one’s vision, but if you want great vision for the rest of your life, it’s not enough. That’s because it places 97% of the responsibility on your eye doctor, and only 3% on you.

Your eye doctor can only tell you the status of your eyesight and vision and make suggestions on how to correct it from a medical standpoint. It’s you that must make the day-to-day changes in your daily habits that lead to a good report from the eye doctor.

Your Eye Vision is Your Responsibility

Creating a better vision plan means creating a plan of attacks that improves your vision. It involves doing things on your own that supplements what your eye doctor does for you.

When you take responsibility in this way, it’s amazing what can happen. Some patients report that they can hardly wait until their next eye exam because they want to see the results of their efforts at home. No longer do they dread eye exams, changing prescriptions for glasses, and the fear of going blind.

What You Need for Your Vision Plan ?

But your better vision plan isn’t simply a supplement in a bottle that you heard on television or one that a friend suggested that you get. This isn’t a plan; it’s a shot in the dark.

The same thing is true for internet searches on how to improve your eyesight. Most websites on improving eyesight will collect articles on different random supplements that could possibly improve eyesight or have been shown to improve eyesight. Still, it is not a real plan to take a big bag of random supplements, and expect maximum improvement.

What is needed is strategies. You need nutritional strategies that give you reasons for why you make certain changes in your diet. It’s difficult to commit to take a supplement when you think it may help, but you really don’t know the expected outcome for your eyes and have no way of knowing why you are taking it.

Nutritional Strategy: Lower AGEs

One of the most important concepts to get right in your nutritional strategy if you want better vision is to lower the level of AGEs in your diet. “AGEs” is a short term for Advanced Glycation Endproducts, chemical fragments or compounds that wreak havoc with every one of the body’s organs and tissues. They speed up the progression of every eye disorder, especially cataracts and macular degeneration.

How AGEs Damage Your Body ?

AGEs act in certain ways in your body. Here’s a list of some of their actions:

• Increase inflammation and keep cholesterol levels high.

Accumulate in skin and are related to aging changes.

• Increase the chance of developing kidney disease.

• Accelerate hardening of the arteries.

• High levels are correlated with heart attacks, stroke and deaths from heart disease.

• Cause damage inside cells by creating kinks in protein chains.

• Form photosensitizers in the lens of the eye which can lead to cataracts.

• Are related to retinopathy and periodontal disease.

AGEs are also the culprit in cutting your life short. Animal studies prove that reducing the level of AGEs in the diet is equal to eating very little food, which extends lifespan. How to Reduce AGEs ?

AGEs are created through two ways:

1. Inside the body from precursor compounds or foods that contain them.

2. From foods during the cooking process.

Foods that are browned into a nice caramel color, cooked at high temperatures with very little moisture, or microwaved contain remarkably higher concentrations of AGEs than those cooked at lower temperatures.

Thus, one of your nutritional strategies in how to improve your eyesight is to stop eating foods cooked at high temperatures with very little moisture. That means you get out the crockpot and slow cook your meats. It means if you cook food in a sauté pan on top the stove, you use low heat and add a little water or sauce.

And when you do, you are eating for better vision. It’s part of your grand scheme of how to improve your eyesight and how you WILL see again with the best vision ever!
