Question

Hi,

I recently had an eye appointment and my optometrist recommended progressive lenses. I have been finding that when I am reading or doing fine work my glasses are almost always off. When they are off, I can see close up crystal clear.

I ordered glasses online and have been wearing them for three days now and have been struggling with them.

I can see distant things fine and am able to use them for computer work but to read or look at my phone it is blurry. Once I take glasses off to read etc. it is clear. Could my prescription be wrong? It is   R: -075   L: -100   Add: +150.

Is this just something I have to adjust to or do I really need progressives? It is so easy just to take the glasses off instead of fighting it.

Thanks

Answer

Thanks for your Question

You can use your glasses for far and for intermediate distance while for close distance such as reading you can take it off. If you are not comfortable with these glasses for near, don't use them. Glasses only help you to see clearly, if you already see clearly without Eyeglasses so what is the point of using them

I don't recommend to use progressive lens if you are not willing to use eyeglasses for near.
