Hi,

My age is 54 and i am a diabetic patient for the last 4 years.I'm suffering from glaucoma for the last 2.5 years.

I'm concerned with so many best doctors in Pakistan.. but there is no treatment they give me except eye drops.. which are combigan eye drops ,F.M.L , xepath etc... but my eye sight is become weaker... and my eyes became reddish.. which irritates me a lot.. Is there any treatment for relief from this?

Most of the time, the first line of treatment is eye drops for glaucoma. Depending on the type of glaucoma, Laser and Surgical procedures can also be very helpful.

Glaucoma that is associated with diabetic retinopathy can be stabilized more with photocoagulation laser to the retina and prevent further deterioration of the condition.

One of the complication of Combigan eye drops is red eye. Ask your eye doctor if you can switch to other eye drops with the same efficacy as combigan.

If your Intraocular pressure is well controlled with Eye drops, i won't recommend you to do any further surgical procedures. You might ask your doctor if you are eligible for Selective Laser Trabeculoplasty which sometimes can be very helpful with minimal complications.
