Question

Hi,

3 WEEKS AGO I HAD A TRABECTOME AND CATARACT SURGERY IN MY RIGHT EYE.

I AM STILL IN PAIN AND IT FEELS LIKE AN EYELASH OR A PIECE OF SAND IN MY EYE.

I HAVE SEEN THE DOCTOR 3 OR 4 TIMES AND HE SAYS MY PRESSURE IS 16 AND I AM DOING GREAT! REALLY?

THANKS

Answer

Thanks for your Question

Intraocular pressure of 16 is great after combined trabectome and Cataract Surgery. Most likely the pain and foreign body sensation the you have is due to dry eye which is common after ocular surgery.

You can use preservative free artificial tears. Sometimes, trabectome can be associated with temporary ocular pain that will decrease with time.
