Question

Hello,

I am using eyeglasses since 11 years and I work almost 10-12 hrs on computer daily. I bought new specs around 2.5 years back and these were comfortable.

I didn't face any problem with them. Last year in November, I went for eye check and doctor checked my specs as well. He said that these are still good and my power hasn't changed.

I can still use the same specs or can bought a new one because my old specs were of glass. So, I bought a new one with same number. But after 2-3 months my vision got blurred and things are not clearly visible.

I am thinking to take an appointment to check my eyes. But today when I was reading something on paper, I closed one eye just for itching and I found that my vision was clear for left eye. Then I did the same for right eye and it was also clear.

Now I am confused when my both glasses are good then why together I have blurred vision. Could you help me to find out answer for this?

Thanks

This is unusual complain. Usually people complains of clear vision with both eye open but blurred vision when one eye is closed.

These are some suggestions that you have to look for:

1- you have to differentiate between blurred vision and double vision. Double vision can occur while both eyes open and disappear when one eye closed.

2- make sure that the power of your glasses is correct and there is no big difference between the powers of your right and left eyes. Big difference can cause eye strain and accommodation spasm.

3- If you have glasses for near and far, make sure that you are using the far one for far distance and the near one for near distance.

If you still have the same complain it would be better to visit your eye doctor for full ocular examination.
