Question

Hi,

1. After a few days of researching I had a sudden onset of glare and halos around light sources.

2. This was acute and has no reason for happening.

3. I had my first floater a week ago which is strange. This is when this all happened. It was accompanied with a sudden adverse reaction to outdoor light.

What can cause this in a perfectly healthy 26 year old? My eyes have seemed dry and sting a bit but eye drops do not help with glare or the halos. Even my tv causes some discomfort.

I am searching for answers to this as I am at a loss apparently everything is fine. But I know that is not the case. I know my normal eyesight and night has never been a problem for me. Nor was glare at all. My eyes are constantly bloodshot And I don't know why this is all happening. Could it be dry eye causing all of this?

I have lost countless hours of sleep because of this. I just want some help zeroing in on an answer.

Thanks

Answer

Thanks for your Question

There are many causes of halos around light and light sensitivity and the most common is severe dry eye. You should use preservative free lubricant such as Systane UD, Artelac advance and so on. Use it hourly for the first few days

Another causes that you need an eye doctor to confirm them are anterior uveitis and increase intraocular pressure.

I recommend that you vist an eye doctor, meanwhile you have to use lubricant eye drops.
