Herpes eye infection
9.0 D In both eyes
I am using high myopia with -9.0 D in both eyes and I have cataract. I want to know if I will go for a operation what type of intraocular lenses should be used and what power. Does I have to use glasses again after operation. Their is any risk in this operation.
Thanks in advance.
Thanks for your Question
There are two types of lenses that can be implanted inside your eye after cataract eye surgery. The first one is called monofocal lens which correct only far distance and multifocal lenses which correct far, intermediate and near distances. These multifocal intraocular lenses are also called intraocular lenses for presbyopia.
After cataract eye surgery and in young patients, accommodation is lost which means if monofocal intraocular lens was implanted inside your eye, you will need eyeglasses for near tasks but you don't need them for multifocal intraocular lens.
You should discuss the option of multifocal intraocular lens implanted within your eye doctor and what are the expectations after the surgery
