Cataract Eye Surgery
My grandma is 65 year old.She had her cataract surgery from the nearby recognized hospital.5-6 hours after surgery, she vomited.what is the cause for this symptoms? is it a common symptom or is it have a complexity?
What is the exact reason for this vomiting?
Thanks for your question
Most likely the cause of vomiting is transient increase in intraocular pressure which occurs frequently after cataract surgery. It last for few fours to few days.
Measurement of intraocular pressure 1 day post operation is very important to rule out high intraocular pressure. Sometimes anti-glaucoma is required for few days to reduce intraocular pressure.
