Question

Hi there,

I washed my face this morning and then i noticed a small black dot on the white part of my eye and I got worried. I tried rubbing my eye and nothing happened and i tried washing my eye nothing happened and i tried to swipe it with a cotton bud.

I am a bit worried if this is a eye freckle, some early stage of an eye problem or foreign object and if it will go away.

Thanks

Thanks for your Question

I don't think this is a foreign body as if it was, you will be complaining of have red eye, excessive tearing, severe eye pain and severe photophobia or light sensitivity.

Most likely it is a pigmented spot which can be a conjunctival nevus or tip of conjunctival blood vessels. There are many causes of pigmented mass on the sclera and conjunctiva. Most of them are benign but sometimes, they can be malignant or pre-malignant.

I would prefer that you visit your eye doctor who can take a good look at it through slit-Lamp and also he might order some tests to make sure of the correct diagnosis.
