Question

Hi,

I moved to an apartment which the original tenant left in a hurry and the house is in horrible state hygiene wise.

When I was cleaning the apartment I accidentally sprayed surface cleanser towards my face, my glasses blocked the droplets for me but to be safe I still rinsed my eyes with eye drops and water from the sink afterwards.

Later on, I realized the water smells like sewage, which suggests there are bacteria built up in the sewage system. Please suggest what I should do to protect my eyes.

Thanks

Thanks for your Question

You shouldn't do any thing right now other than using dry eye drops from boots frequently, maybe 5-6 times a day. You might find over the counter Phenicol eye drops which might be helpful. Try to use it 2-3 times a day for 5 days.

However, if you noticed any eye discharge, eye pain or blurry vision you should be examined by an eye doctor.

Use boots dry eye drops and also phenicol eye drops and you shouldn't visit an eye doctor during the lockdown unless there is eye discharge, eye pain, red eye or blurry vision.
