I have very poor vision. I can't see far away (believe that is nearsighted). I have 2week/monthly contacts I know one of my contacts is -8. Anyway I don't have glasses and haven't for a long time.

Question

Hello,

I recently have had a cold and the other night my eye was a little red towards the inner eye and had lots of buggers / snot coming out of it. It wasn't much better in the morning. There was no pain or itiching / gritty feeling. I did go to the Express Clinic and she thought it was pink eye.

I had some prescription drops from a previous eye thing about a year ago and she said that those would work to help clear it up.

When I woke up today my one eye is better but now the opposite eye was having similar symptops. So I put the drops on that eye too.

My question is how soon can I wear my contacts. I am pretty much blind without them. If it seems to have cleared up in the one eye am I good to put a contact in that eye and wear 1? Also do I continue the drops in both eyes? Should I take out contacts first? How long after the drops can I put them in?

Even though I had a cold the discharge originally was more green thick and gooey.

Thanks

Thanks for your Question

You shouldn't wear your contact lenses if you have pink eyes until you completely heal from it and also you should buy new pair of contact lens if you have pink eye that is caused by viral or bacterial infection.

You should always have a pair or eyeglasses that you can use in such situation.
