Question

Hello Doctor,

I underwent bilateral blepharoplasty surgery two weeks ago, and possibly levator muscle resection (not sure though). I had a slight overcorrection in one eye (the one that was less severe pre-operatively), and my surgeon recommended that I do eyelid massage 4-5 times per day as of day 4 post surgery (when he examined my eyes).

He said it is a minor difference. He suggested pulling of my eyelash down at the affected region. I've been doing that for 11 days now, and few days ago I noticed more redness and bumps between sutures at this region. I also have some pain and pricking sensation from time to time.

I am afraid the stretching exercise caused any damage to my eyelids or sutures (I still have the sutures on, as my doctor is out of the country, and today is day 15 post operation).

The other eye (the one that was more severe pre-operatively, and to which no exercise was applied) seems to have either a bump or a small pimple (not sure).

Today, I applied antibiotic to the suture line.

Any advice?

Thanks

Thanks for your Question

Most likely it is mild infection and it is good that you add topical antibiotics. In case there is no response, you should call your doctor.
