Question

Hi,

I'm 18 yrs old and have -5 eye sight. I've been seeing white light passing through my left eye corner last june. I got my retina checked immediately and been told that there's nothing wrong with my retina.

Then the light stopped coming. Now again I've been seeing light in January.

Please what could it be?

I don't have any migraine

Thanks

Answer

Thanks for your Question

Most likely you have what is called posterior vitreous detachment. The vitreous is attached to the retina and for normal reasons , vitreous is detached from retina. This detachment can cause flashes of light and floaters.

Nothing to worry about. Just do regular check up with peripheral retinal examination.
