Question

Hi,

I was diagnosed with post vitreous detachment in one eye about 5 months ago. See flashing lights and a few floaters.

I now have the same condition in the other eye. The flashes and floaters are not so bad now but when I blink I do see a weird shape in the bottom outer corner of my right eye and wondered what this may be.

It is not in my direct line or vision of affecting my vision in any way. I can see it when I close my eyes too

Thanks

Thanks for your Question

I would advice you to visit your eye doctor to have dilated fundus examination of that eye. I always advice my patients with posterior vitreous detachment to have fundus examination when they notice any new signs.

Most of the time these signs are benign and are due to vitreous liquefaction but we have to rule out retinal holes or tears which can cause the same signs.
