Hi,
I'm 16 and an aspiring ophthalmologist but I have bad eyesight myself. I'm long-sighted and have astigmatism.
Can astigmatism affect my dream career? I have no diseases, have had no eye surgeries but I wear glasses.
My longsighted has been improving but I worry about my astigmatism. I can see perfectly with two eyes open, just not with one eye covered.

It is not a big problem to have astigmatism and in case your vision is 20/20 with glasses, it won't affect your career as an ophthalmologist You can either wear glasses or at age 19 you can do lasik.
