Hi,

For the past year or so I have been prone to styes. However my left eyelid has gotten so dry and dark and swollen and there is this string discharge from the eyes for the past 6 months.

I have been to an optometrist in which they prescribed tobradex but it didn’t work for me.The eyelid still looks the same way with the same amount of discharge.It is not painful thought it just seems gritty sometimes.

What should i do ?

Most likely you have blepharitis which is inflammation of the eyelid. Recurrent styes can be caused by blepharitis.
